SHILLONG: Chief Justice of High Court of Meghalaya Justice PC Pant has dismissed an appeal filed by one Rington Lyngkhoi of Markasa who had been convicted for two years by a fast track court in Nongstoin for raping a woman in 2003. Lyngkhoi had approached the High Court saying that the case should have been tried by District Council Court. However, the Chief Justice, in his judgement, stated that no jurisdiction error was committed by the trial court in convicting and sentencing Lyngkhoi.
