SHILLONG: The GNLA has slammed Chokpot Legislature, Clifford R Marak for his comments alleging that the GNLA and the ANVC have been killing wild animals which came out in the media recently.

“We fail to understand how such false allegations come from a person of his stature when he is not even a minister for Forest and wild life,” the outfit’s commander-in-chief, Sohan D Shira said in a statement.

He shifted the blame for the killing of animals on police during operations and cited an example of the elephant that was killed when the outfit’s camp at Adugri, Sobokgre was attacked with heavy mortar shells.
