House adjourned sine die

SHILLONG: Assembly Speaker AT Mondal on Monday adjourned the re-assembled Budget session sine die.

The Meghalaya Appropriation Bill (No.II) Act 2014 was passed on the last day of the session.

With this Bill being passed, a sum not exceeding Rs 11933 crore has been allocated to different Government departments towards defraying several charges which will come in course of payment during the financial year ending on March 31, 2015.

Apart from the Meghalaya Appropriation Bill (No.II) Act 2014, Martin Luther Christian University (Amendment) Bill, 2014 and Meghalaya Special Courts Bill, 2014 were also passed.

The Budget session, which began on June 6, discussed several issues including deteriorating law and order problem in Garo Hills, lack of urban management, power crisis.
