SHILLONG: Thangsning Presbyterian, Tyrsad HSS, St Paul’s Marbisu and Umphyrnai were some of the big winners on day two of the East Khasi Hills Subroto Cup football tournament, played at Polo Grounds on Tuesday.

Thangsning Pres were 9-0 winners over Glakyn HSS, while Tyrsad HSS beat St Peter’s HSS by the same margin in the U-14 boys category.

St Paul’s Marbisu went one better and defeated Lawmei HSS 10-0.

Meanwhile, in a close fought encounter, Lumkynsai Presbyterian and Christian Academy were locked 2-2 at the end of regulation time, forcing a tie-breaker that the former team won 5-2.

In the U-17 boys category, St John Bosco, Sohra beat Sanshnong HSS 4-0, Christian Academy beat RK Mission 4-3 via a shoot-out (1-1 in full time), H Elias HSS beat Doughlas HSS 1-0, Government Boys HSS beat Glakyn HSS 4-0, Umphyrnai beat COG Thangsning 6-0 and Tlongumniam HSS beat Vilco 3-0.

Under-14 boys

St Anthony’s HSS 6 beat Rusa HSS 1, H Elias HSS 7 beat Eriben HSS 0, Government Boys HSS 2 beat Umpohliew Jingtip 0, OM Roy 8 beat Tlongumniam 0.

Under-17 boys

OM Roy 4 beat Mawprem Modern HSS 0, St Anthony’s HSS 8 beat BK Bajoria 0, Good Shepherd HSS 0 lost to Tyrsad HSS 4, JNV Mawphlang 0 lost to Risa HSS 2.

Under-17 girls

Tyrsad HSS 18 beat Sanshnong HSS 1, KJP HSS 0 drew with Mawpdai Area HSS 0.
