Tura assault case probe report yet to be made public

SHILLONG: Despite the State Government receiving the magisterial probe report pertaining to the assault of 12 girls in Tura, the same is yet to be made public.

An official source on Wednesday said that Government was still studying the report.

The Social Welfare Department, which received the report, sent the same to Chief Secretary WMS Pariat and Social Welfare Minister Deborah Marak for their consideration.

The pressure groups from Garo Hills had demanded a high-level probe into the incident.
