JHADC examines traders’ license

JOWAI: Officials of the Taxation Department, Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council conducted a checking on non-tribal traders’ license in Jowai town on Thursday.

The team of JHADC officials was led by the Licensing Officer, L Nongpluh. The inspection team found that mostly all non tribal traders’ doing different kind of business in Jowai town possessed valid trading license. However, mostly all non tribal workers who works under them (traders) do not possess any Temporary Clearance Certificate (TCC) from the office of the JHADC.

The member in charge Taxation Department, Arborhima Darnei informed that such checking will be conducted from time to time in the entire Jaintia Hills District. He also informed that strong action will be taken against outsiders who are doing business in Jaintia hills without valid Trading license.
