Torture
A woman identified as Promila Hajong of Police Reserve lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that her son-in-law Deepak Singh (22) tortured her daughter Priya Hajong since their marriage in January 2014. On May 21, 2014 Deepak Singh left her daughter and married another woman from Mawprem.
Body recovered
On June 18 at around 4 pm, one highly decomposed unidentified male body was recovered from Amkyrbai, Jirang under Patharkhmah OP (RB).
Arrests
On June 18, acting on inputs, Police arrested two persons Turakbaa Ch. Marak (20) and Josliar A Sangma (22) while they were extorting money from the shopkeepers at Tura Bazar. Police seized, one scooter, cell phone with three SIM cards, cash Rs. 680 and one AYWO ID Card in the name of Turakbaa Ch. Marak from their possession.
Trees felled
One Somarjit Chakraborty lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on June. 18, unknown miscreants felled standing trees at Umsawli (EKH) belonging to NEEPCO and stole the same.
Money stolen from Headmaster
Simon Tynsong, Headmaster of Mawhiar LP School lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June. 18 at around 1.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole his bag containing salary of the school teachers amounting Rs. 1,79,640, three bank pass books, three cheque books and seals of the school at Mawlonghat, Shillong.
Threat
A woman identified as Lenelin Dkhar lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on June 17 around 9.30 pm, three women, namely, June Lyngwa, M. Nongsiej and Happiness went to her house at Lachumiere, Shillong, demanded Rs. 10 lakh, abused and threatened her with dire consequences.
Theft cases
lOne Vijay Singh lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on June 17 at around 10 am, his son namely, Joshua stole Rs. 5,000 from his house at Lummarboh Nongrah, Shillong.
lOne Gomi Pyngrope lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on May 20, 2014 around 11 am, one Larsim Sukhlin stole Rs. 25,000 and one ATM Card from his house at Nongthymmai, Shillong.
Trafficking case
One Priem Khongrymmai lodged a complaint at Sohra PS that in the year 2009, one Sajan Ali forcibly took his daughter to Assam and on June 13, the accused appeared at Laitryngew (EKH) and tried to persuade his (complainant) niece to accompany him to Assam. On enquiry about his daughter, the accused could not give satisfactory answer and fled away.
