SHILLONG: In contrast to the Chief Minister’s statement that directions have been given to the State Police to probe the alleged politico-militant nexus, Meghalaya DGP PJP Hanaman on Tuesday said that his department was yet to receive any such directive.

Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Hanaman said that the chief executive of the state government has not asked the police department to probe into allegations relating to politico-militant nexus.

The State Opposition has demanded for a CBI probe into the alleged nexus after the ANVC(B) political affairs secretary Ajaju Marak made a serious allegation against the Chief Minister with regard to his nexus with militants.
