Fraud
Dr. SR Marak, Commandant, 2nd MLP Battalion Goeragre, Tura (WGH), lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on June 24, during the recruitment rally it was found that one Rashidur Islam possessed two fake birth certificates, issued by one Dr. R.M Debnath i/c PHC Bhaitbari.
Assault
On June 24 around 10.30 pm, one Ramesh Gour (24) assaulted and injured Bholanath Mishra (42) at Barapathar, Shillong. The victim was later shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
Theft
On June 24 around 6.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one dumper truck from Marwet petrol station under Khanapara PS.
On the night of June 23, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero Pick-up belonging to Kokka Marak from his residence at Aguragre (WGH).
On June 6, unknown miscreants broke into the shop of Hopeful K. Syiemlieh at Mawiaban (WKH) and stole grocery items valued around Rs 5,655 and cash Rs 395.
Two-wheeler towed
On June 24 at about 8.30 pm, one motorcycle was found abandoned at Laitumkhrah Bazaar, Shillong and was towed to Laitumkhrah PS.
Arrest
A woman lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on June 23 her 13-year-old daughter was reported missing from Mawprem, Shillong. Later, it was ascertained that the girl was on her way to Smit (EKH) with one Gellius Syiemlieg, a local taxi driver and one Diamond L. Nonglait. However, the local taxi was detained by Laitumkhrah Traffic Branch along with the girl and others in the vehicle. In this connection, the police have further arrested one Shaiborlang Lamin and one Hansha Sohtun.
Robbed
One Nirdodh Kumar lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on June 23 at about 1pm, five unidentified miscreants armed with lethal weapons in one Maruti car (without number plate), waylaid his vehicle at Umtyra (EJH) and seized Rs. 6,000 from him. The police, in this connection, have arrested one Thasly Ryngkhlem.
