Kohima: Former Nagaland Home and Medical Minister and sitting MLA from Koridang Assembly Constituency of Mokokchung district Imkong L Imchen has condemned the blast at the NPF Mokokchung office building on June 23.
In a press release Mr Imchen said the incident took place ‘when I was here in Mokokchung and as such their motive behind the incident was obviously to malign my image,’ and such a crime should be condemned by all.
He appealed to all such elements in society to desist from committing such crimes in our land.
He also appealed to the law enforcing agencies to book the culprits at the soonest possible.
Meanwhile, NPF Mokokchung division has condemned the twin blasts.
A condemnation message issued by the division president Imtiyanger said NPF Mokokchung division was ‘outraged, appalled and anguished’ by the dangerous and callous action of the perpetrators who planted the improvised explosive devices causing extensive damage to the Office.
‘There can be no justification for the perpetration of these activities. If those behind them actually have a goal and a strategy then they should test it by putting it before the people, he said.
Imtiyanger said the people behind blasts were opposed to the ‘democratic will’ of the people and had no respect for the party workers, the party, the wider community or the future.
This ‘cowardly action’ has created a dent to the image of the division, said Imtiyanger.
He urged anyone with any information on the blasts to pass on the same to police. (UNI)
