SHILLONG: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi has sought financial assistance for Master Chidam B Marak who was tragically electrocuted in 2013 in Chasingre , Tura which led to the amputation of his one arm.

He said that all cries and repeated reminders to MePDCL had fallen on deaf ears and it was a clear case of negligence as the ill-fated transformer was unmanned and unfenced.

“It is proved and corroborated by magisterial inquiry at Chasingre – the place of the incident,” he said.

Bakshi and other people have raised around Rs 1 lakh as donation so far but the boy needs more medical attention.

He will need a myo electric hand when he grows up and an appeal for assistance for this boy has been made and the deputy commissioner will put the money in a fire-year fixed deposit for the myo electric hand when he grows up .
