SHILLONG: Deputy Commissioner (Supply) Sanjay Goyal on Wednesday said that the district administration is seized of the matter related to price rise of certain commodities in the recent past. This comes at a time when rates of essential commodities like onions have sky rocketed.

The price of the Red Onion has been fixed at Rs 35-45 per kg while the wholesale price of 100 kg of red onions has been fixed at Rs 2500 to 3500.

The district administration has detailed officers for surprise checks in various storage places and business establishments to this effect.
