Illegal coal supply

On June 28 at about 2 pm, during patrolling duty, Police from Lumshnong AD Camp intercepted one truck (AS-25F-3342) driven by Medister Tyngkan, which was illegally transporting coal to a cement plant at Lumshnong area (EJH).

Attempted rape

A woman from Mawlai Syllaikariah, Shillong lodged a complaint at Mairang PS that on June 27 at about 7 pm, she boarded a vehicle driven by one Macdonald Wahlang from Mairang to TSM Hospital, Mairang (WKH). The driver, however, drove the vehicle towards a jungle at Mairangbah (WKH), assaulted, threatened her with dire consequences and attempted to rape her.

With reference to the crime information dated July 1, regarding an attempted rape of a woman at Mairangbah (WKH), further reports have indicated that the name of accused is Amos Wahlang and not Macdonald Wahlang, as reported earlier.

Robbery

One Mitchell Wankhar lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on July 1 at around 2.30 am, two armed miscreants robbed a laptop and one cell-phone and Rs. 20,000 from truck drivers at Khlieh Iewduh Parking Lot, Shillong.

Nabojyoti Chanda of Woodland Hospital, Shillong lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on July 1, unknown miscreants broke into the Hospital’s general administration office and stole Rs. 80,000.

Assault

Narayan Modak lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on June 30 around 7 pm, one Shai Neil assaulted him at Motinagar, Shillong.

One Arabany Dkhar lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on June 30 at around 7 pm, her ex-husband- Anil Mawrie barged into her residence at Nongrah Nongpyngrope, Shillong and abused the victim and her mother and also threatened them with dire consequences.

One Abdul Sultan lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 30 at around 11.45 pm, unknown miscreants set aflame his shop and godown at GS Road causing loss of stocks amounting Rs. 8 lakh.

Threat

Andrias Lyngdoh lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on June 29 around 10 pm, four persons Shil Mynran, Mardoh-I Syngkon, Jes Dkhar and Eiluti Lamare, all of Moolaber village (bordering Assam), went to his house at Moolaber village (WJH) and set it on fire. They also threatened his family members with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.

On June 24, Village elders of Phodumbah village (WKH) along with VDP members spotted two persons, viz., Phuin Wahlang and Puising Lyngkhoi carrying illicit liquor in the village. On seeing them, the accused persons abandoned the liquor, threatened them with dire consequences and fled away.

Accident

On June 30 at around 6 pm, one auto rickshaw (ML-05G-6399) driven by Mukhia Singh (38) knocked down Anjali Rabha (16) at Demseiniong, Shillong. The injured victim was shifted to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.

On June 25 at around 8.30am, one tempo (ML-08D-0785) ran over and killed a minor girl identified as Pinky Begum (6) at Ichaguri village (SWGH).

Belated report received indicates that on April 25 around 10.45 pm, one truck (ML-08-2242) driven by Megnath Koch dashed against one Maruti Alto car (ML-08C-6938) driven by Dudlal Rabha at Kanchangkona RCC Bridge (WGH). As a result, the driver of Alto car sustained injuries and was shifted to PHC Tikrikilla.

Fraud

One Zenith Khonglah lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on June 21, he received an anonymous phone call, where the caller identified himself as an SBI official and inquired the victim’s Credit Card details. Later, he received a call from SBI Card Officials informing that a transaction was made from his account amounting to Rs. 7,999 with GSS Info Solution Pvt. Ltd.

Ram Asrang of New Delhi lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on April 10, 2013, he gave his truck to his driver Om Prakash and later he lost contact with the driver and could not trace out his truck. On June 28, 2014, his missing truck was recovered from Lumshnong Service Station (EJH) with fake registration plate. In this connection, Police arrested Baba Akala, Md. Monir Uddin Laskar (29) and Surbanchi (49).

Theft

On July 1 around 6 am, unknown miscreants stole a wallet belonging to Precious Dkhar from his residence at Risa Colony, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.

Tapabrata Paul lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 30, he gave Rs. 50,000 to his employee, Santa Das in his shop at Police Bazar, Shillong to deposit the same in the account of the complainant at SBI Main Branch Shillong. However, Santa Das fled away along with the amount.
