Govt ignores airlines’ offer of operating flights from Umroi

SHILLONG: Purbayan Airlines which had offered to start air services from Umroi Airport has expressed its unhappiness with the State Government for now showing any interest in the company’s proposal.

An official of the company on Thursday said the company is ready to operate flights on the Guwahati-Tura-Shillong route but there has been no response from the State Government so far.

“We have written letters to the Chief Minister, the Governor and the NEC Secretary but there has been no response from the Meghalaya Government as yet,” the official said.

The Company also offered to operate exclusive flights between Shillong and Kolkata if the State Government was interested in the proposal.
