SHILLONG: The Shree Rajasthan Vishram Bhawan has clarified that the amendment of the constitution of the Bhawan was passed in the general body meeting and not by the executive committee

Shree Rajasthan Vishram Bhawan Secretary Kunj Bihari Ajmera said that the High Court of Meghalaya quashed the amendment made in the constitution of the Bhawan only on technical grounds that the amendment was not made in terms of Section 2 (q) and section 8 of the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act 1983 which speaks that such amendments can be made with the previous permission of the Registrar in writing and the alteration should then be approved by the majority of three- fourth of its members .

The Court in its judgment also said that it is left to the society to take necessary recourse under the law to amend the constitution of the society if necessary.
