Mass Enrolment drive held

SHILLONG: The Mass Enrolment drive under the Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme (CMSAS) for the infirm, widows and persons with disability was held on July 11, at Umsning, Ri Bhoi District, with the objective to encourage more beneficiaries to avail of the service.

The chief guest, Dr Mukul Sangma, speaking on the occasion, said that the launching of the CM’s Social Assistance Scheme is a demonstration of the government’s commitment to fulfill people’s aspirations and to ensure that the development agenda of the government is benefited by the people.

The function was also attended by Dr C Lyngdoh, Parliamentary Secretary, Ngaitlang Dhar, Chairman, Meghalaya Commission on Resource Mobilization and HM Shangpliang, Director, Social Welfare, among others.

Meanwhile, Dr Mukul Sangma announced that a new block headquarter will soon be created at Umroi.
