Murder
On July 10, one Ranty Daimary (27) was murdered by one Gubalang Daimary, when the latter hit the former with a spade following an argument at Miangmawdar (WKH). The victim later succumbed to his injuries.
Arrest
On July 10, at around 3am, police conducted a raid in the house of one Ajam Shira (23) at Mongpanggro village (NGH) and arrested him in connection with an extortion case under Mendipathar PS.
Assault
On July 10, at around 8pm, unknown miscreants assaulted one TK Sawzagmanna (24) at Happy Valley, Shillong. The victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Pynphai Khongsit of Nongrah Nongpdeng, Shillong lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS, that on July 9, around 10 pm, one Johny Turmin assaulted his wife. The victim suffered injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong for treatment. Khongsit further stated that Turmin has been torturing his wife, Dakynmaw Khongsit physically and mentally since their marriage in 2011.
Indecent proposal
A 17-yr old girl from Mawkynrew lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS, that on July 10, at about 7.45pm, her brother-in-law Marason Syiemlieh (76) made an indecent proposal to her. The police have arrested the accused.
Theft
On July 7, unknown miscreants stole clothing items valued around Rs 2 lakh from the shop of one Syrpatlin Marthong (37) at Mawpun Tiehtyrsieh (WKH).
Illicit Disposal
WR Lyngdoh, executive engineer, PWD (Roads), lodged a complaint at Pynursla PS, that on July 3, a truck (ML-05K-9268) crossed the Dawki Bridge teemed with boulders and dumped the same on the road, blocking the roadside drain and causing inconvenience to pedestrians.
Rape
On July 3, a thirteen-year-old boy raped a seven-year old girl in her residence at Mawiong Lumsyntiew (WKH).
Police raid
Acting on a tip off, police conducted a search in the house of one Shanborlang Jala at Mawlai Nongpdeng Block-C, Shillong, where forty paper pouches containing dried Cannabis were recovered and seized. The police have arrested the accused.
Embezzlement
One Aimonbha Syad lodged a complaint at Jowai PS, that Emos Sayoo, Secretary of Nongkynrih village, (WJH), while in his office as the VEC Secretary, has embezzled an amount of Rs 17,87,000 from MGNREGS.
Sexual Abuse
A male resident of Madanrting Block-F, Shillong lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS, that in the year 2007, while he was a school student, one Bahrit sexually abused him at Dhankheti and at Malki, Shillong on two different occasions.
Body recovered
On July 11 around 6 pm, Jeet Bahadur Lama (53) was found lying dead in his quarter at AMD Complex, Nongmynsong, Shillong. Cadaver was sent to CH Shillong for Post Mortem.
