Brazil visit a private affair: Deborah

SHILLONG: The Social Welfare Minister Deborah Marak, who witnessed two matches of FIFA World Cup, which concluded on Sunday early morning, said that her visit to Brazil was purely a private affair and not official.

Deborah on Monday said that she along with OB Tariang and some other business persons left for Brazil via Calcutta-Dubai-Rio on June 29 and returned on July 8.

The two matches the minister had witnessed were Germany versus Algeria and Brazil versus Columbia. She said during their stay for seven days she was amazed by the enthusiasm of the crowd came there from almost all the countries. “It was full of colurs in the stadium and moreover it was a meeting place of all the nations”, she said.

According to Deborah, since the stay was very expensive she did not stay till Sunday’s final.
