Electricity Regulatory Commission reports placed in Assembly

Imphal: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who also holds the Power portfolio, laid on the table of the Assembly reports of the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Manipur and Mizoram for 2013 and 2012.

Y Surchandra and T Mangibabu expressed gratitude to the governor for addressing the House on February 24. But opposition MLA Dr L Ibohalbi moved amendment on the ground that the address failed to mention the problems faced by the people due to law and order problems and drug related issues.

Deputy chief minister Gaikhangam informed the House, to a query raised by Y Erabot, that no special investigation unit was constituted by the state home department till date. He further said about 423 villages of hill areas were covered by police stations in the valley districts while replying to a question raised by Samuel Risom.

The MLA was further informed that Rs 65 lakhs were collected as land revenue as hill house tax during 2013-14. Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts were the authority to collect house tax. (UNI)
