SHILLONG: The 28-year-old woman of Pipulbari in West Garo Hills, who was raped by a group of people on Saturday, was shifted to Dhubri in Assam for treatment on Monday.
Mridulananda Sharma, SP, Dhubri said that police have registered a case under Section 276 of IPC.
“The mandatory medical examination of the victim has been done and police have recorded her statement,” Sharma said.
Police have identified two suspects based on the statement of the victim. But no arrest has been made so far in this connection.
It may be mentioned that the woman was alone in her house when a group of 15 unidentified persons barged into her residence and raped her. She was found lying unconscious a road side near a forest in Tangoan village, which falls under Mankachar police station.
Police said that the miscreants took away gold ornaments, two mobile handsets and Rs 1 lakh in cash.
