SHILLONG: Locals from Dawki have alleged inaction on the part of the BSF as Bangladeshis come in large numbers by boats to collect boulders from the border.

Residents of the international border at Dawki informed over phone on Tuesday that extraction of boulders by the Bangladeshis has been going on for the last one month and the BSF personnel posted in the area are yet to take any action to prevent the smuggling from Indian soil.

“Nearly 40 to 50 Bangladeshis come in boats every night to take away the boulders from our territory and despite complaining to the BSF personnel, there was no action from them,” a village elder alleged.
