WGH DC cancels GHSHR registration

TURA: In view of the recent arrest of the leader of Garo Hills Sentinel for Human Rights (GHSHR) in connection with illegal confinement, torture and criminal intimidation of 12 girls from Tura, the registration of the GHSHR under No. TSR/2005/pt- 1/883 dated March 25, 2013 under the Societies Registration Act XII of 1983 has been cancelled with immediate effect.

“Such act of the leaders of the said organization and their involvement in the above case has violated their own constitution and the terms for registration of the Societies,” the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner’s order stated.
