SHILLONG: After keeping its Shillong-Kolkata service suspended for nearly two months, Alliance Air has decided to resume the same from August 1.
The NEC Advisor (T&C) PHK Singh on Thursday informed that all the three airports — Shillong, Tezpur and Lilabari — will now have air connectivity to Kolkata even as he informed that the Tezpur and Lilabari flight will fly via Guwahati on alternate days and the Shillong -Kolkata flight will be a direct one (for six days a week).
According to Singh, the Alliance Air has notified the resumption of air services on their website from August 1 and the bookings have commenced.
“An MoU in this regard would be signed between the NEC and Alliance Air shortly,” he said.
Alliance Air, a subsidiary of national carrier Air India, stopped its services June 1 due to irregular payment of the viability gap funding by the NEC.
Meanwhile, the station manager of Air India ST Bhutia on the other hand gave a contradictory statement saying that the services will resume from August 2.
The flight will departure from Kolkata at 12.35 and it will arrive at Shillong at 2.20 pm. It will again head for Kolkata at 2.40 pm and will reach Kolkata at 4.25 PM.
