SHILLONG: Overturning a run of two defeats, a penalty converted by Andy C Kharmawphlang saw Mawali SC equalise and thus earn a point against Lawmali Pyllun in their First Division football league match, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, at the JN Sports Complex, Polo, on Tuesday.

The first half ended goalless, but Lawmali took the lead in the 53rd minute thanks to a goal from L Passi.

However, the 81st minute penalty converted by Kharmawphlang restored parity between the teams and both sides went to full time with the score reading 1-1.

On Wednesday Laban SC will take on Shillong United at 4:00pm.

Laban won their last match, a 2-0 victory over Nongkrem, while Shillong United also triumphed by the same score line in their last fixture, which was against Mawlai.

Shillong United are on a bit of a winning streak, in fact, having won the two matches they played before the Mawlai game.
