Soil Dept clarifies

SHILLONG: The Joint Secretary to the Soil and Water Conservation department, SN Marak has clarified that the departmental promotion committee under the chairmanship of the Director, Soil and Water Conservation met on July 18 for filling up two posts of duftry by promotion caused due to retirement of F Rynjah and R Dempa.

Marak clarified that promotion to the post of duftry is considered from amongst the eligible peons as per existing rules. “There was no interview for filling up the vacant Grade IV posts,” she added.

She also said that during the meeting of the committee, some youths on their own for unknown reasons came to the office of the Director, Soil and water Conservation with application forms applying for the posts.

However, since there was no advertisement issued by the office, their applications were not considered.
