MEPA meet

Meghalaya Editors and Publishers Association (MEPA) will hold its annual general body meeting on Saturday at Shillong Club with the business session for the members from 9.30 am followed by an open session at 12 noon. While several issues confronting the media and welfare of the media persons will be discussed in the business session, the topic for the open session is “The role played by media during the last 43 years of Meghalaya Statehood and its future prospects”. Dr. AK Nongkynrih, Sociology Department ,NEHU will be the  guest speaker.

Maths quiz

Department of Mathematics, St Marys College will organize an inter college Maths quiz on July 26 at 1 pm in the college auditorium.

Diarrhoea Control

District Medical and Health Officer, East Khasi Hills will launch the programme on intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight, 2014 on July 28 at Mawplang PHC at 11 am. Local MLA KC Khyriem will be the chief guest on the occasion while Deputy Commissioner, Sanjay Goyal will be the guest of honour.
lLaunching of intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight 2014 will be held on July 28 at Ganesh Das Hospital at 10 am in which Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek will be the chief guest.

Mass enrolment

Mass enrolment drive for the benefit of beneficiaries under the Chief Ministers Social Assistance Scheme will be held on July 26 at Queen Resport, 7th mile at 11 am. Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Lookout notice

Police has issued a look out notice for an accused Keshav Chettri (34) of 16th Jhalupara. Anyone having any information about him can contact police.

Association formed

The teachers who are yet to get an appointment after completion of their training have formed Meghalaya Elementary Pre-Service Trained Teachers Association (MEPSTTA) during a meeting held in Guwahati recently. The office bearers of the newly formed association are Kiewshaphrang Thabah  (president) , Dimseng Sangma (vice predident) etc.
