Guwahati: The management of a reputed private high school in Guwahati has suspended the principal of the school over allegations of sexual harassment from a female student.
The Superintendent of Police(SSP), Guwahati, A P Tiwari informed that a case has been filed against the principal, Rajib Sharma of Asom Jatiya Vidyalaya, at Noonmati police station for sexually harassing the young student, while adding that a charge sheet would be filed in court on Monday.
The SSP said the punishment for such an offence may be upto five years in jail.
The principal on the other hand has filed a case in Noonmati police station accusing the two relatives of the girl student, who had originally brought in the charges of sexual harassment against the principal, of manhandling him.
