JOWAI: Two Jaintia Hills based pressure groups, the Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) and the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU), have slammed the District Selection Committee (DSC) results declared recently. The results featured the name of a non-tribal candidate.
According to JYF president, Poipynhun Majaw, the inclusion of the name of a non-tribal in the list of 15 successful candidates selected for the post of Sericulture Demonstrator is an impartial practice which will deprive the local indigenous unemployed youth of the District of their rights.
The District Selection Committee, West Jaintia Hills had declared the final result of the interview on July 21.
The JSU and JYF have also sought clarification from the DSC Chairman, who is also the Deputy Commissioner, on the issue.
