Theft
On July 30 around 4 pm, unknown miscreant entered the house of Heltina Nongrum at Langkyrding and stole her gold earring and finger ring. Matter is under enquiry.
Ranjit Kumar Das, Executive Engineer, Meghalaya Central Division, CPWD, Shillong lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on July 25, unknown miscreant broke into the Special Area Games Centre, NEHU, Shillong and stole fittings and fixtures worth Rs.4 lakh.
Sengban P. Marak, SDO, PHE, lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that on July 14, unknown miscreants stole 25 Diagi pipes from Nisangram-Babupara and Beti Apal Water Supply Schemes (NGH). Matter is under enquiry.
Rakes N Marak lodged a complaint at Nangalbibra PS that on July 24 at about 3 pm, one Halmin R Marak (20 yrs) was apprehended while committing theft from a coal quarry at Jadigittim (SGH), while his accomplices managed to escape. Police arrested the accused.
Mahesh Chandra Sharma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that during his absence between July 12 and 22, 2014, unknown miscreants broke into his rented house at Hawakhana, Tura (WGH) and stole laptop computer, computer monitor, CPU, DVD player, ATM Cards and other articles valued around Rs. 1,50,000.
Body recovered
One Skoland Lyngdoh lodged an FIR that one Iainehskhem Lyngkhoi (35) was missing from Pombriew village (WKH) since July 27, 2014. His body was later recovered on July 30.
Assault
One Medalin Sohtun lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on July 29 around 9 pm, two persons Rakesh Gurung and Rohit Gurung of GTC, Happy Valley, Shillong assaulted five persons – Kimi Teler, Margerita Haron, Vasti Teler, Seipo Teler and P. Gangte at Lapalang Nongmadan, Shillong. They also damaged two windowpanes of the complainants’ residence and fled away.
Iulang Tanoh of Khliehriat Nartiang village (WJH) lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on July 20 around 9.30 pm, her husband Aibor Shylla assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences.
On July 29 around 5.30 pm one Hes Sohtun assaulted Phlangsing Roy (38 yrs) at Purinang (EKH). As a result the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Looting
Zalitha R Marak lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS that on July 29 around 1 am, three masked armed miscreants entered her house at Dawa Nengjata, Williamnagar (EGH) and looted Rs.18,000.
Molestation
One woman lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on July 27 around 1.30 am, one Sanid Khongsit entered her house at Lumshnong village (EJH) and outraged her modesty.
A woman lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on Jul 27 around 12 noon, one Morning Nongsiej (24) raped her nine-year-old daughter in a shop at Iew Nongstoin (WKH).
Forgery
Amina Bibi of Pabomar village (WGH) lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla PS that in the month of January 2012, one Jahidur Islam Sarkar, Branch Manager, SBI Chibinang Branch, illegally opened one A/c in her name by using her documents, without her knowledge.
Murder
Rushi Pale of Ialong Mulang village (WJH) lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on July 28 around 2.30 pm, one Sah Pale (62) killed his nephew Lakhon Pale with an axe. Police arrested the accused.
Desecration
Emmanuel Lamare lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on July 26 around 7 pm, unknown miscreants broke into a Catholic Church at Mooshrot village (WJH) and defiled the Church materials and damaged some articles.
Hit-and-run
On July 25 around 10 pm, one motorcycle (ML-05K-9358) ridden by one Dabbu knocked down Md. Sayeedul Rehman at G.S Road, Police Bazar. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at Woodland Hospital, Shillong. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
Abduction
One person of Lower Rongbu (NGH) lodged a complaint at Kharkutta OP that on July 24 one Opilla Sangma took his sister (18) without the consent of her parents and handed her over to one Maha Alam, who took her to Singimari, Assam.
