GSU meet

The GSU, Khasi Hills Zone, has invited Garo students studying in Shillong to attend a general meeting which will be held on August 2. The agenda will be on organising the Garo freshers’ meet cum cultural programme and to fill up vacant posts of the Union.

Clarification

The MeECL has clarified that street lights in Barik area and parts of Lachumiere were under emergency repair between 9.30 am to 12.30 am on Tuesday for which the lights had to be switched on and off intermittently while testing.

Conference

The Biennial Divisional Conference of All India Postal Employees’ Union Group C (Postal) Meghalaya division held recently unanimously elected new office bearers for the next term. Com. Simon Peter Dohling is the divisional president while Com. Ranami Bhattacharya is the vice-president along with eight organizing secretaries and two auditors.

Renowned exponent of Indian classical music, Kaushiki Chakraborty of the Patiala Gharana, will perform at U Soso Tham Auditorium on August 3 from 6 pm to 9 pm under the auspices of Zenith Jubelieth Club, Laban.
