Shillong: The Meghalaya Boxing Association(MBA)in collaboration with the Sports Department will be organizing the Annual State Boxing Championship 2014 in the city beginning from September 3 to 5, 2014.
Interested participants can compete under different age and weight classes.
The divisions in the championship include, the Sub-Junior category for individuals aged between 12 to 16 years, the open category for individuals above 17 years while different weight divisions ranging from 33-54kg under the former and 49-69kg under the latter are also included.
With this championship, the association (MBA) aims to select potential boxers to represent the State boxing team in various regional and national boxing competitions.
MBA is also organizing a daily training program at the MBA Training Boxing Hall, 5th Ground, JN Stadium,Polo,Shillong for interested students.
