NCC DG arrives in city

SHILLONG: Lt Gen A Chakravarty, Director General, National Cadet Corps, arrived here on Tuesday on a three-day visit to the NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region (NER).

Prior to his visit to Shillong, he inspected and reviewed the training at NCC Group Headquarters, Dibrugarh, Assam on Monday.

While in the North East, the DG will be reviewing the NCC training being imparted to 88,000 cadets in 1000 schools and colleges in Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

He will also interact with the state administration of Meghalaya and Assam and discuss issues like NCC activities, raising of new NCC Battalions and upgradation of existing NCC units.
