New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved amendments to the Juvenile Justice Act, allowing the Juvenile Justice Board to decide whether those in the age group of 16 to 18 years can be tried as adults, in case of heinous crimes.

The decision was taken in the wake of pressure from several quarters in view of the growing criminal activities by juveniles.(UNI)
