New Delhi: Following a hue and cry about lack of sufficient information on North East in the countrywide curriculum, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to give due preference for inclusion of precise and sufficient material on the Northeast region in its curriculum.
This will also help student and create awareness about the region, Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani said while replying to a question of Rajya Sabha member from Meghalaya, Wansuk Syiem, who wanted to know what the Centre was doing in this regard. The step follows the demand from people of the region living in different cities to include materials about the Northeast in NCERT books.
