SHILLONG: The work for Ganol Power project is likely to start in the month of September-October.

The project assumes significance for power-starved Meghalaya and Garo Hills in particular.

Power Minister Clement Marak said that most of the initial works for the project had been completed.

The foundation of the 20.5 X 3 power project was laid in 2007 but the work did not start on time due to some political reasons.

Marak said that the project, which will be executed by Patel Firm, will take 42 months for completion.
