Block-I lifts Lum Pyngad inter-block football tournament

Shillong: Block-I locality lifted the glittering trophy of the Lum Pyngad Inter Block Football Tournament held at Mynsain Football Ground at Lum Pyngad, Shillong on Saturday.

The one-month long tournament saw participation from eight different teams representing differnt localities.

The final match between Block-I locality and Lum Kut locality appeared to be a one sided match as the former defeated spirited Lum Kut by 6-1.

Block-I centre forward, Kidlee Nongkhlaw, the hero of the day, scored six goals in the entire match.

Nongkhlaw scored three goals in the first half and another three goals after the lemon break.

Lum Kut Centre forward, Sylvester Syiemiong scored one goal towards the end of the match for his team to bring the final tally to 6-1 at the end of the final whistle.

Decked in green and white jerseys, Block-1 players were overjoyed after a hard day’s work.

The Headman of Lum Pyngad, S Talang and other members of the locality gave away the trophies to the winners. In the overall performance, Kidlee Nongkhlaw was adjudged as the Best Scorer, Banshemlang Nongdhar as the Youngest Play and Heh Bok Nongkhlaw as the Best Goalkeeper. Megh Legislator Jemino Mawthoh also witnessed the match amidst cheering crowd.
