Accidents across Meghalaya

A Maruti EECO which was travelling towards Mawryngkneng from Shillong was involved in a head-on collision with a TATA Sumo at Mawlyndep under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills District. The TATA Sumo was proceeding towards Shillong from Jowai when the incident occurred on August 12 at 9:30 am. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Smit helped in shifting Rishandor Nongrum (40), Suchila (38), Binit Suchiang (30), Lambor Ksor (23), Lewis Bareh (45) and Riship Mylliem (38) to Shillong Civil Hospital. Rishandor Nongrum was driving the Maruti ECO while Binit Suchiang was driving the TATA Sumo when the accident happened; the others who sustained injuries were passengers travelling on the Sumo.

On August 11 at around 9.30 pm, an accident took place between one truck (ML-05J-5017) and one Maruti car (ML-10A-2225) driven by Gladson Kharkongor (25) at 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong. As a result, three occupants of the Maruti car sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

On August 11 at around 8.30 pm, one Maruti Alto (ML-05H-2007) driven by Rolanson Lyngdoh (18) knocked down one pedestrian Manish Chettri (32) at Laitumkhrah, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
