SHILLONG: The HSPDP Shillong city has taken a strong exception to the bandh call given by the outlawed HNLC.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, publicity secretary, HSPDP Shillong city, Dominic Wankhar exposed the excuse of calling a bandh through the virtual world on the pretext of protesting against the NGT ruling and at the same time against the celebration of India’s Independence.

Perhaps they (HNLC) should open their eyes to reality rather than raising a hue and cry over the NGT ruling, the HSPDP said.

“What do we say for such a proscribed outfit which claims to be fighting for the interest of the Jaidbynriew while protesting against the NGT order which has been a blessing in disguise against illegal migrants and subsequent environmental slaughter,” Wankhar said, adding that the HNLC should uphold the noble gesture of the Tribunal rather than going to the extent of threatening the members which is highly condemnable and uncivilized in this world.
