Theft

On August 9 night, miscreants stole one scooter (ML-08C-5505) belonging to A.J. Thomas from his garage at Lower Babupara, Tura (WGH).

On August 12 around 8 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti Alto (ML-05D-8401) belonging to Ram Gopal Ruthala from Jhalupara, Shillong.

On August 12 night, unknown miscreants stole a computer monitor, four wash basins and two cooking utensils valued around Rs.8,800 from Nongmynsong Dorbar LP & UP SSA School at Nongmynsong, Shillong.

On August 10 daytime, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Tomo Noni at Nongrimbah, Laitumkhrah, Shillong and stole one laptop computer and cell phone with SIM card.

Mathon Ch Bora lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS that on August 9, unknown miscreants stole GI pipes belonging to PHE valued around Rs.1,20,000 from a Water Treatment Plant at Balsrigittim, Williamnagar (EGH).

Attempted murder

Police arrested one Donlad Bareh in connection with an attempted murder under Laitumkhrah Police Station.

Becareful Sumer lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on July 2, 2014, around 9 pm, one Monjur Lyngdoh attempted to murder his (complainant) brother Rujied Sumer by stabbing him with a knife at Priang village (WJH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was removed to a hospital at Shillong.

One killed

On August 7 at about 4.30 pm, one new motorcycle (without registration number) knocked down Md. Nur Hussain at Barojhora (WGH). Victim sustained injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.

Assault

On August 11 at around 11.10 pm, unknown miscreants assaulted one Vivek Jemy Ghatraj at Jhalupara near Dhobi Ghat, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

Ammunition seized

On August 11, police conducted raids in the houses of Alek Momin and Romut M Sangma at Nengchikung village (WKH) and seized two unlicensed SBBL guns, eighteen live cartridges and 162 pellets from their houses.

NGT ban violation

On August 10, while on vehicle checking duty at Nongstoin-Shillong Road (WKH), Police detected two trucks (AS-01-EC-4472 & AS-01-CC-4633) driven by Kyrshanlang Marwein and Edwin Marwein respectively transporting coal in violation of NGT ban. Both the trucks have been seized and the drivers arrested.

Arrest

On August 10 at around 11.30 am, one Deepak Dorjee entered into the newly constructed building of P. Khongji at Lapalang Law-U-Sib, Shillong with an intention to commit theft. Police arrested the accused.

Rape cases

A woman lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on August 7 around 2 am, one West Pakem forcibly entered her house at Larket village (EJH) and raped her.

On August 6 at around 10 pm one Rijanki Lyngdoh entered into the residence of a lady at Namdong-B village (WJH), raped her and took away Rs. 5000.

Threat

On July 27 at around 2 pm, one Bhamon Shylla threatened Deinicha Ksoo with dire consequences at Namdong-B village (WJH).

Trespass

On Aug. 12 at about 10.30 pm, one Papu Swer (27) who was in an inebriated condition entered the compound of Sumita Dey at Golf Links, Shillong, but was beaten up by the residents of the area.
