NONGSTOIN: Nongstoin Police have arrested one Williamstar Lyngdoh Nonglait of Mawiong Pyndengrei for his alleged involvement in the attempted rape of a 12-year-old girl at Nongstoin.
The incident took place on August 2 at around 10.30 PM at Mawlarshong, New Nongstoin Village, when the girl was outside her house. Nonglait attempted to rape the minor, but the girl managed to escape.
The family of the girl filed an FIR at Nongstoin PS on Wednesday following which police arrested the accused.
