NGT ban violation
On August 16 around 10 pm, while on vehicle checking duty at Khliehriat (EJH), Police detected two trucks (AS-11-AC-6725 & AS-01-AC-3709) driven by one Azim Uddin Borbhuiya and Md. Ali Ahmed Talukdar respectively, transporting coal in violation of the NGT order. Both the trucks have been seized and the drivers arrested.
On August 15 around 5 am, while on vehicle checking duty at Lumshnong AD Camp (EJH), Police detected two trucks (ML-04A-1719 & ML-05G8-8285) driven by one Milon and Bright Dhar respectively, transporting coal in violation of NGT order. Both the trucks have been seized and the drivers arrested.
Theft
George Wahlang lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on August 18 around 3.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one car tape from his car (AS-03B-5155) parked at Keating Road, Shillong.
Purse snatching
H.S. Saina lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on August 18 around 10 pm, one unidentified girl snatched his purse containing Rs. 45,000 at Police Bazar, Shillong.
Drowning case
On August 17 around 11 pm, one Krishna Rabha (23) was drowned at Umran River under Umsning OP (RB). Efforts are on to fish out the cadaver.
Assault cases
Jovial Roy Diengdoh lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on August 15 around 3.30 pm, two persons Batborlin Dkhar and Khrawkupar Dkhar created trouble in the house of Queenlight Sohlangpiaw at Nongpyndeng village (WKH) and also assaulted her. As a result, she sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital, Nongstoin.
Teibor L Nonglait lodged a complaint at Mairang PS that on August 15 around 7 am, two persons Bijoy Nongrang (20) and Tlanding Syiem (22) assaulted his father Trim Nongrang (56) at Kynrud village (WKH). As a result, the victim died on the spot. Police arrested both the accused person.
