ULFA, aide arrested, Tura blast plan foiled

TURA: In a major breakthrough an Assam-based United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) operative and his aide were arrested on Tuesday from West Garo Hills district and their plan for executing a major blast was foiled.

Police first arrested Babul Rabha (18) alias Kancha, who hails from Goalpara district of Assam.

Based on his revelations police were able to nab another person, Trenning M Sangma (18), who hails from West Garo Hills.

According to police, the duo had planned to carry out bomb blasts in different crowded locations in Tura and Williamnagar. Sangma was involved in recent bomb blasts at Krishnai in neighbouring Assam.

Police also informed that Babul alias Kancha was sent to Garo Hills by ULFA leader Dristi Rajkhowa to carry out the planned blasts.
