Dy CM urged to improve education base in NGH

TURA: The District Development Steering Committee (DDSC) of North Garo Hills has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister in charge Education, R.C. Laloo, with a demand for better education infrastructure in the district.
A meeting between the DDSC and the Education Minister was also held recently at the residence of Meghalaya State Planning Board Chairman, S.C. Marak at Resubelpara, where it requested the Minister to look into the important needs of the people of North Garo Hills in terms of education including upgradation of Mendipathar Deficit College into a Govt. College and introduction of Commerce and Science streams in it for the benefit of the students community of North Garo Hills; provincialization of all deficit secondary, higher secondary and ad hoc schools in the district; opening of Central schools like Navodya Vidyalaya at Raja Apal and residential school at Gajingpara; opening of Agriculture College at Bangsi Apal; introduction of 10+2 Science streams at Kharkutta Govt. Higher Secondary School and Commerce and Arts streams at Resubelpara Govt. Higher Secondary School and construction of the two damaged class rooms of Resubelpara Govt. Higher Secondary School.
