Conversation on poetry
A Thumb Print Conversation organized by Umshyrpi College and the webzine Thumb Print will be held on August 27 at 4.30 pm at Umshyrpi College, Laban, on “Meena Kumari, the poet: A Life Beyond Cinema” a book on the actor Meena Kumari’s poetry translated by Noorul Hasan and published by Roli Books. The conversation will be moderated by Editor of The Shillong Times, Patricia Mukhim, and will include Noorul Hasan and Daisy Hasan, and an introduction by musician and performer Lou Majaw.
Programme
A programme was organized by the Block Programme Management Unit, Mawkynrew Block, East Khasi Hills, on Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight, at the office of the BDO, Mawkynrew C&RD Block. Mawkynrew MDC Banteidor Lyngdoh was the chief guest on the occasion.
