NONGSTOIN: The West Khasi Hills district administration has promulgated Section 144 CrPC within and around the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills in view of the agitation called by the Association of DSC Passed 2010 on Wednesday in protest against the non- extension of the DSC 2010 merit list by the Government.
A press statement said that such agitation being undertaken by the organization is likely to cause breach of peace and in around the area, so in order to maintain public peace and tranquility in the area and in the district as a whole the District Magistrate, P.D. Sangma, has prohibited the holding of any act or acts of the nature aforementioned above, in the office compound of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills or anywhere along the road leading to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills.
