Sheila Dikshit Resigns as Kerala Governor

New Delhi: Sheila Dikshit has resigned as governor of Kerala, reports Press Trust of India.

Dikshit on Monday met with Home Minister Rajnath Singh and President Pranab Mukherjee.

Sources close to her had said she had made up her mind, and it was a question of time. Since it took charge in May, the new BJP government has made it clear that it wants to replace governors appointed by the previous government with nominees of its own.
