SHILLONG: The ANVC-B has expressed unhappiness at the outcome of the meeting between the Chief Minister and MLAs, terming it as pathetic and disappointing at the legislators did not raise the issue of the Garo Hills situation. “Issues which led to the deterioration of law and order in Garo Hills are bad governance, injustice, implications, kidnappings, rapes, killings etc which is being faced by everyone. No MLA raised these issues. They (MLAs) did not even suggest possible remedies to the Government. They should have raised the core issues and press upon the Government to take constructive steps to restore peace,” the ANVC said.

The outfit also demanded that incumbent Chief Minister Mukul Sangma must resign to restore peace in Garo Hills.
