Body found
On August 26 at around 10.45 am, body of one Abdul Hasib (42) of Karimganj District, Assam, was found in his residence at Industrial Estate, Khliehriat (EJH).
Assault
Police arrested two persons Kyrshanbor Marbaniang (22) and Romistar Khyriem (27) in connection with assault case under Mawlai PS.
Accidents
On August 27 at around 7.30 pm, an accident took place between one motorcycle (ML-05J-4563) ridden by Vijay Kumar Saraf (25) and one local taxi (ML05E-3223) driven by Rolesh Marbaniang (20) at Laitkor Ladsahep (EKH). As a result, motorcycle rider and the taxi driver sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On August 27 around 11 pm, one motorcycle (A/F) ridden by Kandamson Kuki (21) dashed against a post near St. Anthony ‘s College, Shillong. As a result, the rider and one pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
NGT ban violation
On the morning August 27, while on vehicle checking duty at Mairang Area (WKH), Police detected two trucks (ML-06-4917 & ML-05H-2767) driven by Sostar Nonglait and Donaldson Syiemlieh respectively, transporting coal in violation of NGT order. Both the trucks have been seized and the drivers arrested.
On August 26 at around 8.05 pm while police were on a vehicle checking duty at Ummulong (WJH), they detected two coal laden trucks (AS-01DD-7751) belonging to Marbiang Passah and (AS-01U-4479) belonging to Theh Dkhar transporting coal in violation of the NGT order. Both the trucks were seized.
Molestation
On the morning of August 27, one Satbir Singh (38) molested one 11-year-old girl in a grocery shop at Bara Bazar. Police arrested the accused.
Arrest
On August 27 at around 7.30 pm, one Leadership Raliang handed over one Bangladesh national Santosh Rai without valid documents to Police at Jowai PS (WJH). Police arrested the accused.
Theft
On August 25 night, unknown miscreants stole one music system from a local taxi (ML-05G-6876) which was parked at M/s Sunny Car Wash, Nongthymmai Nongshiliang, Shillong.
Dominic Pala lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on August 23 around 12 pm, unknown miscreants stole parts of water pump at Khliehskhem Pat (EJH).
Kyrmen Siangshai lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on August 21 night, unknown miscreants stole one water pump set from Musniang village (EJH).
Vijay Kumar Singh lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on August 21 & 22, unknown miscreants stole construction materials belonging to M/s BSC C&C JV Company, valued around Rs. 31,410 from Langtor village (WKH).
