Retired teacher reported missing in S Garo Hills

TURA: A retired school teacher has reportedly gone missing from his home village of Nengkong in South Garo Hills prompting police to dispatch a team to ascertain the reports.

Reports reaching Baghmara from Nengkong area of Siju mentioned that a retired Hindi teacher was kidnapped by armed men from the village on Saturday.

“We cannot confirm the reports as of now but we have dispatched a team to the village to verify the reports. We will get to know the actual facts only when the team returns,” informed district police chief Lakador Syiem.
