Kidnap case
In connection with the abduction of Robique M Marak (16) from Chandigre, Chibinang under Phulbari PS (WGH) on August 31, Police arrested two persons Jimstone D Sangma alias Kintang (23) and Jelbirth M Marak (16).
Accident case
On August 30 around 7 pm, one Tata Mobile (ML-05G-2188) driven by Kestar Sohtun (34) fatally knocked down one minor girl Darishisha Dkhar (15) at Sohryngkham Neng (EKH). Police arrested the driver and investigation is on.
Molestation
On August 30 around 9.15 pm, one Wartersius Lyngdoh molested one twenty-five-year-old lady in his vehicle at Jingthangbriew Bridge, Jaiaw, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
NGT ban violation
On August 30 around 1 pm, while on vehicle checking duty at Myntdu Bridge Junction (WJH), Police detected one truck (AS-01-DD-1996) driven by one August Pale transporting coal in violation of NGT order. Police seized the truck along the coal.
Extortion call
Ponsing Ch Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on August 28, he received a phone call in which an anonymous caller demanded Rs. 5 lakh from him.
Theft
Specialist Nongtrai lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on August 21, he detected that materials valued around Rs. 8,04,000 which were used for laying pipelines under JNNURM have been stolen by unknown miscreants from Madanrting, Shillong.
Threat
Arati Deka of Air Force, Laitkor, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on August 9, her husband Chkum Chandra Deka attempted to kill her and also threatened his children with dire consequences.
Misappropriation
Nundey Agitok Sangma of M/s Reliance Life Insurance Company Tura (WGH), lodged a complaint at Tura PS that one Tulsi Prasad Dey of Hawakhana who was working with the Company as Insurance Adviser, had misappropriated renewal premiums deposited by customers amounting Rs. 8,12,940 and fled.
Cheating case
Police arrested one Geeta Thapa in connection with a cheating case under Madanrting PS.
